This week students will be working on a vocabulary project. Working with a partner, students will illustrate 22 letters of the alphabet. They can omit K, W, X, and Z, as there are not many French words beginning with those letters. Each letter should be represented by a picture. The picture could be a cut-out, a drawing, or from the internet. Students may wish to bring magazines from home into the classroom. Presentations will be Friday, August 19 when students will spell in French the words they have illustrated. This will be a summative grade.

Students will receive usernames and passwords for the book's website. Students are encouraged to try their interactive book at my.hrw.com.

Monday, August 15. students will continue to work with their vocabulary words from Chapter 1.1. Homework will be to complete the section of the workbook
for "vocabulairw 1.1) on pages 1-4. Homework stickers will be issued.

Tuesday, August 16 - tonight students need to study their vocabulary. One method of studying is to make flash cards. Another is to cover the English definitions and make certain they know what the words mean. Some students will need to write them out - either manually or on their computers. We will have a quiz on these words on Wednesday.

Wednesday, August 17 & Thursday, August 18 - Students should continue to work on their vocabulary projects in school and at home. Students should take home only the parts of the project they will be working on. this is to ensure the project is in the classroom for the partnere. In class we will be learning about subjects and verbs in French.

Friday we will be presenting our projects in French. Over the weekend, or prior, students need to complete their workbook pages 5 and 6 for Monday.
